   Until the 17th and 18th century, figurines were most commonly produced from porcelain and other ceramics. The figurines were still popular in China and this led to the desire of pewterers and other specialists to replicate the process in Europe.
   In this way, it seems that the first porcelain figurine was made in Germany and soon the process was copied and applied in other European cities. Even if the pewter figurines are not as beautiful and colorful as the porcelain ones, in that period the pewter figurines existed as well.
